How long does AON2? And what happens after an approval?

Hi I'm a USC. I petitioned for my husband on 4-10/17. I received NOA1 on 4/12/17 and our case is being processed at the  Potomac processing center, how long does it take to receive NOA2? And what happens after the approval is sent to the NVC?

The time varies from service center to service center (then again once the embassy is involved). The average for a NOA2 on an I-130 for a USC is ~6-7 months: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/irstats.php?cfl=

 

That said, your profile shows DCF. Is that correct? If so, the time for a NOA2 is typically a few weeks or couple months.

 

Once approved, the petition is sent to NVC, processed there for several weeks (or longer), then on to the embassy. The process is laid out here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

You can check the current processing times here, https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do . You are able to select the Potomac service center using the dropdown close to the bottom, the one labeled "Service Center". According to that the Potomac service center is currently processing applications submitted in January and February depending on the type of petition. So it seems like you're still 2-3 months from NOA2 at the very least.

Keep in mind when that was last updated...

"Field Office Processing Dates for Potomac Service Center as of: May 31, 2017"

It's over 3 months out of date.

It's over 3 months out of date.

It's actually just one month behind from the other service center updates, the date "as of" is used to show that as of that date, they started working on those cases. So when you're past that date and you haven't received a decision, you're out of normal processing times.

True...they're all outdated by at least 2 months.

 

The "as of" date represents the date at which the data in the table was last updated. That's not exclusive from what you said, but I'm just reiterating the point that the data in the chart is stale and not representative of the timeframe of cases they are currently working on.
