CR1 interview date

My priority date is july052016. I received a letter from NVC on June052017 saying that Theyve received all the requested documents for this immigrant visa case and is now in a queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas and that it takes within 3 months to schedule the interview. Now today its September062017 3 months exactly since receiving that letter  and nothing from Abu Dhabi embassy or NVC and still waiting for an interview date!

Please share your own experience & timeline.

Their standard line is that it usually takes 3 months or less to be scheduled.  Some countries and some embassies take longer.  That being said, congratulations!  You have emerged from the dark place called the NVC unknown.  You are one step closer to having the visa in hand.  Time to get ready for the interview.....

Are you saying you got the CASE COMPLETE from the NVC in June 2017?  This means your NVC Scan date was sometimes in March 2017?  If thats the case and NVC has completed your case, I am not sure why it takes 3 months just to schedule an interview at the Abu Dhabi embassy.  I don't know think the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi is that busy to make you wait 3 months.

However, if you are saying the NVC on June 5th notified you that your documents has been received only which means thats your Scan Date, then it makes sense that it will take 3 months, because the document review process at the NVC takes 11 weeks which is close to 3 months

Sounds like case complete email on June 5th.  NVC said "in queue for interview".

Wow, thats insane because trust me not too many  people in UAE (Abu Dhabi is a state in UAE)  want to come to the USA.

My case is still with the USCIS, but I wish I can find-out the estimated wait period to schedule interviews at the US Embassies at different countries.  I say that because I have the option to pick when my case moves to the NVC to be sent to different countries my wife can travel to because the US Embassy at the country my wife is living in is closed.  I can the case to Jordan, Djibouti, Sudan, Malaysia, Egypt

They have to wait for your priority date to become current before they schedule your interview. I assume your case is F2A, so you probably have to wait 8 more months.

i dont know what visa visa you are applying for but AD is taking time. I've been waiting for over three months and nothing. Takes ages, seems it's a busy embassy

Abu Dhabi embassy is extremely busy - wait time from CC is 7 to 8 months.  Please search on this site you will know.

but Abu Dhabi does interviews for countries like Iran that doesn't have an US embassy so it doen't just cover UAE and it is busy as in July and Auguat many were renewing student visa / we have a whole group here  studying from UAE and they return home each summer

US embassy at abu Dhabi is super busy, they interview Iranians too, plus many people from other countries who work and live in UAE like Philippines, India and Pakistan. 

It can take up to 6 months to receive interview date from this embassy.

CR 1 too. So yes in average 5 - 6 months

For CR-1 visas, there is no waiting for priority date after the interview. Spouses of USCs go to the front of the line immediately.
