i found out recently lots of folks complained here that their biometrics photo are not good enough and asked for resubmitting the photos.

technically, is it possible to upload passport photo to your e-filing package just in case your biometrics photo fails to meet their requirement.

You can upload anything you wish for USCIS to consider with your application under "additional evidence".   I would still bring the hardcopy to the interview though if you are concerned about the biometrics photo being good enough since it's a different person than your interviewer who would be preparing the actual certificate.
