I can't find the source anymore but I remember I read that once you get paroled back to the States under AP you're considered a parolee and you might not be able to adjust status under I-485. Has that happened to anyone? What are the circumstances of this happening?

Don't people usually wait until the AP is approved BEFORE traveling outside the country?

I don't see how this is a new policy? It has been like that since I started reading visajourney years ago. You never ever leave the US without your AP document in hand.

He is trying to keep as many immigrants out of this country as possible, hoping people will not find out about new laws and violate which creates a money making oppertunity for american lawyers and filings of paperwork fees for GOV.

1.  He's trying to keep ILLEGAL immigrants out of the country..

On what do you base the rest of your opinion.

As it should be.  It seems to me that a reasonable person would know that traveling out of the country before approval of  AP is abandonment....

And what does that have to do with the AP, the AP hasn't changed, still the same rules as before afaik.

Agreed - this isn't widely impactful. Don't leave the US until your AP is approved.

 

There were a handful of exceptions to the rule above - H-1B, H-4, L-1, L-2, K-3, and V visa holders. These people must now wait for AP to be approved before leaving the US.

You can still AOS upon being admitted as a parolee the same as before. There's no changes to this aspect.
