We got the bio appointment letter over the weekend.  My husband goes next week for his appointment! Also he has a job offer so we are hoping that he will be able to get EAD expedited.

Does approved I-130 somehow change my status (I married having a tourist visa B2)? So, since I-130 was approved, am I still in the same status? question 24 in I-485.

Hello guys, we mailed my fiance's packet on september 1st, they received it on the 6th and we are a little worried because we haven't received anything  back, no enotification that they already received it either. should we call someone ? uscis maybe? or should we just wait ?

Did you submit a G-1145 for each set of documents (I-131, I-485 and I-765)? They don't send a text/email NOA1 unless you submit those forms. I would give at least 3 weeks for the paper copy to arrive in the mail. Did they cash the check yet?

I did submit a G-1145 to all ( EAD/AP/AOS ) The payment method I did was cashier's check.

Yes. It is normal. NOA1s for AOS takes up to a month before you receive it. So you're still fine.

Wow, the whole process with the AOS only took you 4 months? Is that pretty normal?

Please let us know. I am curious if this is a valid reason for expedite EAD. If so, I would definitely start looking for a job.

It's pretty quick for an AOS application, they said it takes 6 to 8 months normally for AOS and sometimes takes up to a year. But thank God I had everything done in 4months for all 3 applications: EAD, AP and AOS.

We mailed our package on the 12th, they received it on the 14th and I received a text notification tonight. I think it is for the I-485...I only had put one form G-1145 as I was told I only needed one.

 

Oh wait more receipt numbers are coming in!! Second one is in now .

 

If we got this, does it mean I didn't do a basic mistake and they will not send the petition back? Like forgetting to check a box lol.

If we received the notifications, why has the check not been cashed? Anyone else it has happened to?

No. It does not mean that everything was done correctly. AOS has an RFE too. RFEs in AOS could come after biometrics and sometimes even before your interview. 

 

Those receipt #s you got are your NOA1s just like in K1. It is just a proof thatthey received your packet.

 

But I hope your packet is all good and I wish you all a smooth AOS process like mine. 😊😊😊

I just remember some people getting their packet back no check cashed and no number for the k1 and AOS, was wondering if it was the same for AOS. The basic mistakes, I understand the RFE.

We submitted our I-485/I-765/I-131 on September too.

 

Sent: 09/06/17

Received: 09/08/17

Email & text Notifications: 09/13/17 (3 one for each application)

Check cashed: 09/13/17

NOA1 I-797C received: 09/18/17

 

Now hoping for a biometrics schedule soon enough.
