More bad news: Russian consulates ordered closed

I'm wondering if it's possible to reschedule our interview, they are currently showing no available appointments I think because none will be available until after September 1st. I really don't want my fiance to have to go to the interview by herself.

Ouch, that's a huge bummer. :(

This is madness, so now we're only going to have one place to apply for Russian visas in the US? Whattttt?

No doubt, and all based on a made up narrative.

Apparently the Seattle one is still going to be open....but still. It's not fair to close down so many in regions where it will now be very difficult to apply for a Russian visa. It's a race to the bottom between these two countries it seems... :sleepy:

I agree.  I will need to apply for a new three year visa next year, and I hope things clear up some before than.  I have sympathy for those caught up in this political mess right now.

The US is sending a search team to sweep the office in the morning so they were burning any documents they don't want found.

My visa was picked up this morning from the consulate so hopefully I'll get it in a few days.

Welcome to cold war II.

Oh that's great that you got your visa processed before this whole mess!

I have a three-year private visa, so thankfully I won't have to reapply for one for a while. Who knows what might happen in 3 years though!

The comments section to this article is hilarious.  Beyond that, it is sad to see political relations deteriorate over one side upset over election results.  Hopefully things will cool down soon.

You still can apply to get visa in Seattle, New York, Washington DC and Houston. Only one in San Francisco will be closed.
