USCIS #1 800 375-5283 how to speak to representative

I called uscis # 1-800-375-5283 and can't seem to find menu option to speak to customer service representative. How so you speak to a live person?

Press 1 for english and then 2, and then 2 and then 2

What works for me:

 

Press 1 for service in English (if you wish English)

Keep pressing 2 until you get transferred to a live person.

 

Keep in mind the person who answers the phone is just a regular customer service rep and cannot tell you anything personal about your case.  They normally just read off what's listed verbatim on the USCIS website in response to any of your questions...and frequently give out wrong information, too.

 

If you want information pertaining to an actual application you filed, request to speak with a L2 Immigration Officer who can actually look up your case details.

Hi Going through! Would it be possible that the call rep refuse to let us talk to a level2 immigration officer after we ask him/her?

Sometimes they give you a hard time (I think there's an inter-office issue if they transfer too many calls in a day or something...like they get in trouble or whatever).  Most of the time, they will transfer you no problem.

 

If one of the reps gives you any grief over wanting to be transferred----you have the luxury of just hanging up the phone, calling back, and requesting it from the next person who answers the phone

Sometimes when a volume of call transferring to L2 is too heavy that the regular customer service rejects the transfer and request to call back the next day.

The process has changed slightly. It now goes like this:

 

1 (for English)

1 (to check case status)

2, then 2.

your case number on the phone keypad.

1 then 1.

 

This just got me into the queue for a L1 agent.
