Waiver 601A -expedite processing

Has anyone had  expedite processing for their waiver. Our attorney said that he will request expedite processing for my waiver. My father (USC- my qualifying relative) needs to have surgery this winter, and the lawyer said that this meets the criteria for expedite processing. He said that is up USCIS to approve the request, and that it is discretionary and no extra fee is required. Has anyone had expedite processing for their waiver?

Do you mean a I 601?

I 601A I have seen mentioned but never with a good reason why.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Surgery this winter?  It doesn't sound like an emergency....

I 601A waiver. I have a really good lawyer, and he said since my dad has a very strong medical hardship, and has  the upcoming surgery, he said that  as long as we can prove that the surgery is scheduled and get a letter from the doctor stating that he needs me to be back for his surgery ,we can request expedite processing  for the waiver. Yes surgery in winter - NVC still can be 3-4 month process until interview. I mean if it goes through would be great, if it doesn't I have no choice but to wait for normal processing, I was just unaware that expedite processing was even an option for waivers , and wanted to see if anyone has had their waiver expedited.

How does any of this this apply to a I 601A?

All good stuff for a I 601 expedite btw.

Ask him how may I 601A expedites he has done and what his success rate is, seems a very rare beast. As in not sure I have ever seen one actually progress.

I had a 601 waiver expedited. Look back on this site to  late 2014. My husband ( soon to be divorced) entered the U.S.January 2015.

My reason for expedite was my unemployment was ending. I needed him here to help pay the bills.  My lawyer told me it would never get approved...we filed they waiver late August 2014 and the expedite was approved October 2014 ( if my memory serves me)  it's in my timeline I believe.

Sounds quite logical and I have seen many similar expedites. If in doubt expedite is my motto.

Thanks for the input. I am trying to get all my documents together to get the waiver ready. I guess is worth trying, My father has heart failure, atrial fibrillation, diabetes and many other health issues ( 20 conditions overall) and I am with him in a doctor's office every week almost. I am a RN and with the upcoming surgery the lawyer said that he will argue that it is important for me to be here in time for the surgery and the recovery part, so he will  ask for expedite processing. If it goes through it goes through, if it doesn't it doesn't. I sometimes feel like I am close to loosing my mind. this is such an overwhelming situation,  I just can't wait for this process to end.

You are here, you said you are here, so what is the reason for the expedite?

My situation is causing him stress and anxiety ( especially with the current increase in deportations) ,and is causing his heart to go into atrial tachycardia, to the point he can not get out of bed.  We are having a psychological evaluation done next week (stress and anxiety part), and the cardiologist is putting this into his letter as well .

Payed the visa fees today, as soon as our psychological evaluation comes back, we will file the waiver. I'm so nervous!

How long did your process take? How long did it take to get back the psychological evaluation please?
