I'm a us perminant residant and i applied the form i 130 petition for alien relative to bring my wife to usa. The processing time for i 130 for perminant residant (at california service center)is still on hold ( augest 23) for more than 7 month?? Why?

Is there a maximum waiting time for its approval?

There are no guaranteed processing times. Also, as you are a permanent resident, visa availability isn't immediate and you'll have to wait about 2 years for the priority date to become current anyway.

No max time.

How long until your elligible for citizenship?  That would speed things up.

My friend, first and the foremost thing USCIS is simply slow whether its citizens or PR's. I am a citizen and I have been waiting for more than 5 months. I have reported to my state representatives and senator now. You should do the same.

Getting back to your question. Become a citizen will definitely speed up the process.

But even if your I130 approves lets say hypothetically in a fraction of second in USCIS, next it will go to NVC. At NVC, your application will stay there for more than 1 -2 years if you stay a greenCard holder because you will not get a visa number. Whereas a citizen gets a visa Number immediately.

Now try to become a citizen ASAP and then update either USCIS or NVC(whichever department has your application). Send them below data:

- a letter saying that you have become a citizen so upgrade your petition receipt number from F2A to IR(immediate relative)

- Copy of naturalization certificate)

- copy of receipt notice.

Thank you guys for your help. What i want now is the first step which is the approval csc is the slowest ever. It took more way more than expected and it may take 1 more year just for approvalif it stayed on hold like that.

All what i can do now is to wait 2 more years to get my citizenship and make things easier.

Also make sure you put pressure on your representatives and you senators. Even if you have to protest in front of their house or office.
