I believe working is fine, as long as your payroll is from a different country and being deposited into that same countries' bank account, as you're technically not illegally displacing any U.S. workers and still working for your same employer right now, just remotely. For example, I'd get sent down to California for training for three weeks from my company, all expenses paid.

It's still considered a gray area as a mix of immigration and tax law, but many others have done so fine. In your case, it was likely different - short term training is explicitly permitted on a B-1 status. Canadians are granted B-1/B-2 status, so they are permitted to engage in temporary business visitor activities, including paid training under certain circumstances.

Great, thank you! So do you think Is OK to adjust status on this situation?

Me and my bf have funds and can prove it. Actually I think only last time I entered in the U.S. the officer asked me more information about how can I support myself travelling and I explained that I work online for a company in Brazil + I have investments. And he asked me if I had a boyfriend here and I said yes.

My concern is: if there is any possibility to be considered a visa fraud or something else bad, I won't do it, and prefer to wait in Brazil. I also have italian citizenship, I don't know if this helps me anyway somehow..

Thank you so much!! :)

You are FINE to marry...intent was given at the border and you were legally allowed in.

Aos, and you are fine! No questions will be asked. Have fun!

So long as your intent when crossing the border was not to get married and then circumvent immigration law by staying (which it sounds like this was not your intent since you were granted entry at the border), you are fine and won't be found at fault for "visa fraud" or anything like that.

I adjusted status while remaining in the US for the very same reason as you, on a B1/B2 visa.  my thoughts to you going forward, is to begin NOW in gathering proof of your bonafide relationship/marriage because you will need a ton of evidence by the time your AOS interview comes around.  Get a file-folder box to keep everything in it and organized.  This includes joint utility bills, photos of the two of you including photos with each others families and friends (camera time stamps are a wonderful thing, btw), any letters/cards you get congratulating you both on your marriage that you receive once words gets out, joint tax forms, joint bank statements, copies of leases, retirement/beneficiary/life insurance statements, health insurance provider info showing both of you on the same plan, large purchases made with both of your names on the invoice, etc.

Basically, never throw anything out again for the rest of your lives :P

If there is ANY criminal background for you in ANY country, start getting the court certified/arrest documentation needed for that as well, and order several copies of them at once as you will need to submit originals again and again throughout your process until citizenship (should you choose).

Best of luck to you and congratulations on your upcoming marriage!
