Can she get a waiver? She was under 18

Hey all

When my friend was 15 she was arrested with (a lot of ) narcotics in the airport when she landed in New York. She got deported a few days after without being charged or being infront of a judge or anything like that. (Because of her low age)
She was later sentenced for the offence in her home country.

She is now over 30 (she is citizen of a EU country) and wanna go to USA as a tourist, with no family there.

Do you guys think it is possible at all to get a waiver because she was under 18 when it happend?

Thank you

What was the charge she was sentenced for?  Was it drug trafficking?

It makes a difference because if it is a CIMT then she is unlikely to be granted a tourist visa.

good luck

Sounds like she was a drug mule. Most unlikely but she can apply and see.

You never answered the questions, without knowing more impossible to say.

good luck

She was sentenced for drug trafficing in Europe later on yes.

So even if she was under 18 it's unlikely?

What about if it's going to the US for business reasons would that help? Or the only possibility would be to have sick family members over there or something like that?

D3 waiver waives pretty much anything but unlikely in the case of drug smuggling.
