Hi everyone, my interview is next week and decided to do a luk research. But I keep seeing a lot of DHL comments.

I live in Tema which is just abt an hour from Accra so do I really need a courier service?

Don't visas get issued on that same day when u go for ur interview?

And what are some of the possible questions I'll be asked?

For Ghana when you're approved, they will give you a blue piece of paper with instructions to return in about 2 weeks. You have to go to the office to pick it up. They won't deliver it to you.

Questions vary from case to case. They will most likely ask questions from the evidence you or your partner submitted. So make sure you know about every piece of evidence that was submitted on our behalf.

Hi thanks very much for the clarification. I read in one of ur replies elsewhere that there could be refusal if the lady is older? Has this always been the case or there are exceptions?

It's not always the case, but there have been many on this site that have. Red flags are things to be aware of and things you need to overcome with other solid evidence. What you have to look at is your overall evidence and case. What has been submitted on your behalf? How many trips has your fiance/wife visited you? How long have you known each other?

We've known each other more than a year and she's been to Ghana twice. She wanted to even come the third time when we got notified about my appointment being ready so she had to drop plans abt her coming. What type of evidence would u suggest I submit apart from the normal requirement of letters and pictures?

Are you applying for a K1 or a CR1? There's a little bit of a difference between the two.

I would include:

- copies of her of her plane tickets and visa stamps (Time together is like gold for this embassy, so make sure they know she was there twice.)

- conversation history such as call or skype logs, chats,

- if you have made any wedding plans, you can include that.

If you go to the Consulate Review section on this site, I posted a review when my husband was approved. You can get an idea of some of the things I submitted. Keep in mind if you're applying for a K1, some of those items wouldn't make sense for you.

We have wedding pics and casual pics as well. I think suggesting the visa stamps and plane tickets can also be very useful.

We are applying for the CR1 and we are married.

Okay...married is a little different. If possible, you should include evidence that shows you've started combining your lives together. They are understanding that you won't have everything, but you should try to submit some if you can. For example, I sent in utility bills with both our names on it, proof he is on my medical insurance, receipts showing he is the beneficiary of my life insurance, etc. If you those kind of things haven't taken place yet, then try to focus on the good evidence you already have like the conversations, letters, proof of trips, any receipts you have of hotels, wedding things like cater, wedding dress, rings, etc.

Do you know if your wife sent any evidence of your relationship during the first two phases? Or are you taking everything during the interview?

I don't think you should worry, I found this review from three years ago (Wife was 56 husband was 27).  If your relationship is genuine, you should have no problems.

I want to add to the comment about if your relationship is genuine, you won't have to worry.  I am significantly older than my husband, I was 53 and he 27 when we married.  Our relationship is genuine, and we submitted evidence of owning real estate and other things together and he was still denied.  His case was reaffirmed, but this added 1.5 years to the process.

So please, even if your relationship is genuine with a large age difference, be prepared to be looked at with more scrutiny.

It's nice that one case with this sort of age difference got through with no problem, but I don't believe that's the norm.
