I went for first time H1B visa interview in Vancouver on June 22nd 2017 and the VO gave me 221 g white slip for administrative processing and next day I received the new DS 5535 form since then my case is under administrative review . I had been on J1 visa from 2012 till 2017. Anyone with similar experience?

Because you went to a consulate other than your home country's consulate, it might take a while. They need to run a background check on you and then they need to check all the information on the form. You've been under AP for just a week and that is a short amount of time.

It is recommended to go to your own country's consulate and I am surprised you were allowed to go to Vancouver because most countries around the US do not allow to submit a first time H1B in their consulate if you are not from that country.

The VO first gave me worker rights brochure and then in the end gave me 221 g white slip kept my passport and I797 and told me that my case needs further admin processing and usually it takes around 1-2 weeks. Next day of the interview they send me DS 5535 and in the email they mentioned 10-30 days. So far it has been 17 working days but no update yet.

Did either in the VO or the email mention any timeline to you?

Is this your first H1B ? Did you went to the consulate at your home country? I got similar questionnaire after my prior two J1 visa interviews (except Social media info) but usually those cases resolves within a week. But this time it is taking longer.
