I have recieved my packet from the US consulate here in Auckland. I am however confused about a couple things.

1. The first step of gathering the police clearance form, passport photos and doing the DS-160 form online; do I send these in first without the other parts required such as birth certificate and police certificate etc? Do these need to be mailed in or do I take them in and hand them over in person? (I have my medical booked for tomorrow morning and am going to a place near to the consulate).

2. How do i get a police certificate? Is that gotten once I have sent back the police clearance form or is it another thing I need to do online? Its not very clear on the travel.govt website and also the link doesn't work on that website.

3.

Complete the DS-160 online (you'll need a digital copy of the passport photo to attach to your application - you can't submit the application without the picture)

The Police Certificate is issued to you (mine arrived in the mail) after you apply and pay for it ... I applied through the Australian Federal Police, so I assume NZ will have a similar m(http://www.police.govt.nz/faq/how-do-i-get-a-police-clearance-certificate

You take all original documents with you, to the visa interview. You don't send those ones in. Follow the checklist, and take EVERYTHING they ask for in your package :)
