Hi guys!

I'm joining this thread though we mailed our AOS packet on June 30. It was delivered on July 4 hence we are July filers. We used the old form of I-485 since we had filled it out already when the new form was introduced. Impatiently waiting for NOA-1, no notifications by mail/text/email so far.

Was a stressful journey full of ups and downs, cya in 2020 VJ. I'll be back when it's time to begin the dreaded I-751. Biggest advice - make sure you have a TON of evidence, be completely honest and you'll be fine. Good luck everyone! =)

No, they will have those documents already in the case file (the A# links them all).  You need:

  1. I-485 - Adjustment of Status Application
  2. Evidence requested with I-485
    a.       Copy of Passport Biographic Page
    b.       Copy of I-797 “NOA2” from K1 Visa Application
    c.       Copy of Electronic I-94 Electronic Page
    d.      Copy of K1 Visa and Entry stamp from passport
    e.      Copy of Immigrants birth certificate (with English Translation, if applicable)
    f.       Copy of Marriage Certificate
    g.      If applicable, copy of Divorce Certificate(s) for previous marriage(s) of either the Immigrant or the US Citizen
  3. I-864 - Affidavit of Support
  4. Evidence requested with I-864

    a.       2016 Tax Transcript for US Citizen

    b.      2015 Tax Transcript for US Citizen

    c.       2014 Tax Transcript for US Citizen

    d.      Five most recent pay stubs for US Citizen

    e.      Letter from employer indicating salary and employment details for US Citizen
    f.       W-2 of US Citizen, if available

  5. I-131 - Application for Advanced Parole (including supplement if you plan more than one trip).
  6. I-765 - Application for Employment Authorization Document
  7. Your fee including the biometrics fee.
  8. 6 Pictures (2 for I485 and 2 each for I131 and I765).

I think this is everything, please chime in if anyone can think of anything else. Also, note this is for the most common and likely scenario. It will be different if you have additional sponsors for the I-864 or your country doesn't have birth certificates, etc.

Okay, thank you so much, was beginning to think I needed to go through that whole process again.

When filling out the clubs and organizations portion of the I 485 did any of you include being part of the military as one? In Ukraine every male starting at the age of 16 has to register with the military. My husband was registered but he didn't get any training and didn't have to serve. He only got a medical done through them to make sure he was healthy. Thanks in advance!

Personally, I don't think it counts since he never received any training. We have the selective service registry here and it would not count as being part of the military.

Yep - all good. The old I-485 form has a grace period of 60 days I believe. Congrats!

Hi All!

First post here. Just sent out in our concurrent filing AOS packets and got our 4 texts and emails on Monday at 9pm. WHAT A RELIEF! The status were already updated the USCIS case tracker when I checked.

For reference, our timeline:

6/30 - Mailed Out

7/3 - Received and Signed by JC, also date listed as application received on case tracker

7/10 - Texts/Emails Received

7/11 - Checks cashed ($1225 and $535 for I-485 and I-130)

Waiting on the physical notices and biometrics letter now! YAY... hope all our apps go through smoothly and quickly.

I saw that another July filer included letter of employment and pay stubs. Was this a requirement for the i-864?! I only included 2014, 2015, 2016 tax transcripts and W-2s/1099s for evidence.

I'm worrying about my new i-485 form, I think I missed to fill out some ofthe A-number on the top of each page.

I just used pen to fill out the forms. I wish I'm wrong and wont have RFE's 😢

Hi July filers. We just got married yesterday, 7.11.17 and I am currently in the process of preparing the docs & filling up forms. I have the same question. What does A-then boxes means?

Another question will be, is it okay to submit my application even if my SSN is not available yet? I applied mine last June 30 ( i arrived here June 10) unfortunately my first name was very long ( i got 24 characters) so it will take them 4 weeks to process, it means i might be able to get my SSN last week of July.

I am getting bored at home and i want to find a job asap :)

Good luck to those who already submitted their documents.
