Marriage after consul approval

Hi People

My and my fiancee won GC (two - on for each). I got consul approval and receive permanent visa (promise) into our passports.

Before we leave our country we got married but did not change our last name. What should we do? Do we need to inform embassy? Leave it as it is?

Grateful for help. Rob

You each won a green card? That's amazing luck.

at this stage you will cause complications if you want to change anyone's last name because the passport will need to be changed and the visa reissued to match that - which they typically won't do for DV. So best to do the name change, if you want to change, after arrival in the US, though be aware you will be charged for a replacement green card.

As for informing the embassy...as you each got a visa independently of your relationship I'm guessing you don't need to, but I've never heard of a situation like this before so can't say for sure! Maybe there are other opinions on that?
