Would she be contacted after divorce?

My wife and I are getting a divorce after a messy break-up (you can look at my other thread).

I've talked to my divorce lawyer who has done immigration cases a long time ago, but has since stopped. He informed that even if I get divorced, immigration will try to contact my ex-wife. Now, I am very paranoid since this woman is crazy and has been continuously tried to get me arrested so I would have a problem with my second interview. If they do call her I am positive that she will say something that would put my status in jeopardy. I will be hiring an immigration specialist lawyer after my divorce is finalized but I would like to input regarding this matter.

Yes I am doing ROC. We had our first interview last year. My 2 year GC expires exactly 13 months from today.

How can your 2 year CG expire in 13 months from today? Then you would not be doing ROC something doesn't add up there maybe you meant  something else.

You can still do ROC as divorced you just have to file with a divorce waiver when the divorce is finalized. No problem in that and they will not contact her because of that.

That said it's not very common to have 2 interviews for ROC. Why are you having two what are your red flags since you have two.?

I've had my GC since 7/2016. Yes I know I can file the divorce waiver and do the interview myself, however my lawyer did my cousin's case ( he got divorced because she ended up cheating on him and getting pregnant). When he went to his interview they ended up calling her, sometime after the interview ( I think). So I am just paranoid now that they will call her to ask her about our marriage or divorce and her saying something to get me in trouble.

Okay so you are far from when you have to file for ROC.

It's not even sure you will get a interview at ROC.

You can divorce her and file with the divorce waiver when divorced is finalized and you'll be fine you are putting to much into all this.

Just move on and think forward.

Glad to hear this, and I'm trying to not be too paranoid about all this, but when it comes to my future I get major anxiety attacks lol.

I understand but don't make this harder on yourself then it really is. A lot of people file ROC after being divorced. Just make sure you have evidence of bonafide marriage and you'll be fine.

I filed a divorce waiver and no one contacted my ex. ROC is your process, and they know divorces can get ugly. You should file as soon as your divorce is final.

How long did your marriage last? what did they ask of you for ROC?

Less than a year. They didn't ask me for anything, I didn't get an RFE.
