Waiting for AOS but might move in a couple of month to Japan

AOS package was accepted in Dec2016. Wife did her Biometrics in 9Jan2017. Since April her case status has said "preparing to send Interview Appointment"(Something like that). From what I have read online the San Diego office is really backed up. I am planning to move with my family to Japan by Mar2018 on orders with the Military. if my wife does not receive her green card by then or even finished her Interview, can we do it at the Embassy in Tokyo? Or is there a way to expedite the process? I don't want to wait to long and have to leave my wife here alone without her having a drivers license or good grasp of the English Language.

A friend of mine who was  Air Force, she married, and he received his green card through filing for marriage visa,  and less then a year, she got orders to  transfer to Turkey, somehow through the Air Force , and USCIS, he took his citizenship test, he did not do the normal time before one can apply for citizenship....... See if some one in your division of the military can assist you if possible or maybe even contact you local congressman, they may be able to assist you.

There is a process to expedite military spouse naturalization (if the spouse plans to move with the active duty member)  -https://www.uscis.gov/military/citizenship-military-personnel-family-members/citizenship-spouses-and-children-military-members 

 

I'm unsure if there's a process to expedite AOS though - I'm experiencing a similar thing   The number for the USCIS military helpline is (877-247-4645) - I have a little more time than you so I haven't started bugging them yet, lol, but let us know if you find anything out!!
