When did you submit your AOS application? EADs take about 90 days. Has it been 90 days since the date on your receipt notice yet?

As you have no details on your timeline its very hard to answer questions.

It took Claudeth about two months from when we filed to get her EAD biometrics and then another six weeks to get the card. Good luck

If the greencard comes before the EAD, it means the EAD is useless. Do they return the $180 for the 'useless' EAD?

We need an advice here for people to wait BEFORE sending their EAD. The rule should go like this:if your file gets transfered to California, DO NOT mail the EAD.Otherwise, mail off the EAD. DO NOT mail the EAD with the AOS otherwise you risk waiting $180 for the EAD you may never need.

AOS process

Sent I-485, I-765 packet on 3/1/07

Biometrics 3/29/07

Transferred to CSC 4/6/07

Touched 5/8/07

Touched 5/9/07

EAD approved/card ordered 5/21/2007

AOS approved July 5, 2007; Card production ordered and welcome letters sent.

What I CHOSE to do is I never mailed an I-765, but that's a risk. We might not get approved for 2 years who knows... or we might get approved in 2 months... We took the risk.

And you need to calm down, it has only been 41 days, how do you know you won't get your EAD in a few days ? Or that your whole case will be approved today ? You don't know what's going to happen and when, but it is too early in the game for you to be complaining already.

Get an infopass and go tell them that you want your EAD that you paid for, even if that means delaying your process....

pretty crappy advice IMHO. To pay $180 to get some insurance in case you get stuck for a few months, not so bad in my book. Think of it like this : many people could earn that back in a WEEK or two. Interim benefits are very important, and its irresponsible to suggest otherwise to OTHERS. Make your decision for yourself, but don't *advise*.
