Congratulations! You can apply within 2 weeks or so. I say "or so" because the whole I90-something form is all electronic now so you probably don't need to wait that long.

Good luck on your green card process. Hope it doesn't take too long

I am in the US and married now on a k1 transitioning to a green card.  When can I apply for a social security number?

Congrats!  You can apply for your SSN now with an unexpired (more than 14 days left) I-94 and your passport.  Alternately, you can wait until you receive your EAD.  My husband applied for his SSN just a few days after entry and before we were married.  It really depends on if you need it for things like a bank account or driver's license right away.

You should have applied for your SSN right after you entered the US. Some SS offices won't let you get one after you've already got married, or if you have too little time left on your i-94. But it's always worth a try and if it doesn't work out you just need to wait for your EAD. The EAD can take many months though, so be prepared for a long(ish) wait.

You should definitely be able to get it with an EAD as you need both to work legally prior to the GC.

I second what @Scandi already said. You should have gotten your SSN on your maiden name upon arrival in the US. You probably won't be able to get a social security number anymore so I would try it once your work employment card comes in so you can start working after.
