Status changed to "Application Received" from "Ready"

Good, but slightly strange news - my status remains Application Received, but the Guangzhou (China) consulate finally responded to my email from mid last week. They did not explicitly say my fiancee's visa was accepted, but said that the printer is having an issue, and that there are an larger than normal amount of applicants, so we should be patient in waiting for the Consulate to deliver our visa. We'll take it!

Hi Dave

I had my k1 visa interview on 4/10 in Guangzhou and was approved. My visa status update has been similar too.

4/10 ~ somewhere around 5/10 Administrative proceeding ( I didn't check everyday)

5/15 Ready ( the update date said 5/2 though. And also it says non immigrant visa )

5/18 Application received (the date still says 5/2)

I'm really confused since they asked me to go to the immigrant area in the consulate for the interview, and then gave me a piece of paper saying "immigrant visa issuance notice".

Besides, i checked all the websites in China and no one has ever seen the "application received" update doing any type of US visa. >_< but the posts online are from years ago, so probably it's a new update pattern in 2017?

Hi Eufi,

We have almost exactly the same updates!

I went to the interview on Apr 10th and was told approved. And CEAC no update for a month.... lately it's been changing from AP - AR - Ready - AP - AR (the last AR was updated today).

Geez, every time they respond to my email they say it's due to a high volume of applications and some sort of system delay. When I asked them when the system delay would be fixed, they said they didn't know for sure...

Hi All,

Seems I'm in a similar boat. Here's my timeline. I can understand them not wanting to answer tons of questions, but maybe if they just had even a modicum of information on what to expect on an easily navigated website (who the hell cares about the history of the guangzhou consulate??) they wouldn't have so many confused people looking for answers.

4/10 - Interview at Guangzhou consulate - quick interview, rejected on 221(g) because she was a party member - had to submit a letter detailing her involvement in the CCCP, we followed the advice here (http://www.candleforlove.com/FAQ/CCP_Essay.doc)

4/17 - Sent in required documentation

5/23 - Received e-mail asking for her to send in her passport, checked CEAC Status: [Immigrant AP, Case Created: 21-Feb-2017, Last Updated: 22-May-2017]

5/27 - Passport Received by consulate as per ustraveldocs.com

5/31 - CEAC status updated - only date updated [Immigrant AP, Case Created: 21-Feb-2017, Last Updated: 31-May-2017]

6/2 - CEAC status updated - only date updated [Immigrant AP, Case Created: 21-Feb-2017, Last Updated: 02-June-2017]

6/6 - CEAC status changed from Immigrant Visa AP to Non-Immigrant Application Received [Non-Immigrant AR, Case Created: 06-June-2017, Last Updated: 06-June-2017]

6/7 - CEAC status updated - only date updated [Non-Immigrant AR, Case Created: 06-June-2017, Last Updated: 07-June-2017]

6/9-6/11 - Sent email using online inquiry form:

My Question sent on 6/9:

Quote

I have been checking the status online, it was updated on June 6th to say that the case has been opened and to check the status in two business days. It has been more than two business days and the status has not changed.

Response received 6/11:

Thank you for your email. Your case is currently under review Once the review has been completed, we will notify you of the next steps.

6/12 - Sent email using online inquiry form:

My question on 6/12:

Quote

Our case status was updated on June 6th, saying that the case is opened and to check the status in 2 business days, but it hasn't changed. I was wondering if you could give me an idea of the timeline for how long it will take to process. Thanks!

Response received on 6/13:

Thank you for your email. Your case is currently under review Once the review has been completed, we will notify you of the next steps.

6/13 - CEAC status updated - changed from AR to AP [Non-Immigrant Ap, Case Created: 06-June-2017, Last Updated: 13-June-2017], ustraveldocs now says there are no updates on her passport status.

Hey guys! My case also went into Application Received - here's the breakdown.

I had my interview yesterday morning, June 14th:

June 14th: CEAC status change from "Ready" to "Application Received" (2pm)

June 15th: CEAC status change from "Application Received" to "Administrative Processing" (~10:30am)

June 15th: CEAC status change from "Administrative Processing" to "Issued" (11am)

I've been refreshing every few minutes and couldn't BELIEVE how quickly it went to issued. Crying and freaking out. Fingers crossed for tracking info soon because I'm picking up in Montreal and just want it in my hands and for this part to be over!

Hi guys,

We are also on the same boat with "Application Received" status in CEAC .

Although she just has her interview 6/19 where she was informed with preliminary approval ( we'll take it), but yesterday she received a phone call from the Guangzhou consulate saying that although she passed the interview, there is a possibility of delayed...

Does anybody received similar phone call?

We are extremely worried....
