But based on what everybody said, I don’t think they are actually doing it?

Hi,

So I know it has been asked over and over on the forums but I wanted to ask specifically for our area: my notice for the interview tells me to bring "A completed medical examination (form I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted)".

So when I sent my application back in November 2017, I sent the vaccination documentation worksheet (form DS-3025) and it did say that US vaccination requirements complete.

Do I still need to bring a forn I-693? If so, it means I have to go back to a civil surgeon and go through all the medical visit?

I-751:

07/09: Package received by uscis

07/14: Credit card charged

07/16: Text notification (YSC center)

07/22: Fingerprints applied to my case

07/30: NOA

Since you are a K1 filer and it hasn't been a year since you submitted your AOS packet, you should be okay with your current medical. (As long as your medical was completed with nothing missing prior to submission).

Thank you for your answer. One last question... Did you submit a I-693 when you filed for AOS? I only sent a copy of my DS-3025

No because it was with the K1 packet which is joined eventually with the AOS packet.

I remember putting my husbands AOS packet together and getting caught up on this for a while until my husband told me it was in the packet that he gave to the immigration officer when he first entered the country.

hey are you going to be interviewing at the local office in Fairfax? if so, i had mine there. i was adjusting from a k1 and my medical docs were handed over to CBP at my POE. in my AOS i only included a copy of my DS-3025 (which says completed, request blanket waiver). the officer who interviewed us spent a few minutes rummaging through our physical file looking for my medical docs and when he couldn't find it, he asked us for a completed form i-693. i said i submitted mine at POE and that what i have is a copy of ds-3025. at the end he said that it was ok because i don't need a new form I-693 as a k1. he also said he remembered seeing a I-693 in my file somewhere when he was reviewing it prior to my interview. obviously YMMV.

Yes, Fairfax too! Thank you for your answer, I am in the same situation as you, gave my form I-693 when I came here the first time and that's all.

I hope things will go as well as it did for you and congrats for your case approved! It's kind of funny, we have almost the same dates (except I was a bit lazy and filled for my AOS a bit later 😅)

Hi everyone,

I shipped my package (I-130 and I-485) on August 20th to Chicago center and they received that on August 22nd. I received my notices in the mail a week after, and checks were cashed on August 27th. Still Have not heard anything about the fingerprint appointment. I called USCIS and they said the biometrics appointment has not been scheduled yet. How long should it take??

I am living in Maryland, and my husband is a US citizen.

Hello,

I had my interview on the 24th of September and received my GC by mail on the 28th, it was really fast! I was at the Fairfax office, my interview was at 7 am and there was already a bunch of people waiting. Our interview started at maybe 7:20am and at 7:40am we were done. I gave a bit more information on the other topic if anyone is interested. If anyone wants a timeline, I sent our package on november 13th 2017, biometrics in December and got my EAD and AP in January 2018.

For those that went through the Baltimore office for AOS.  After a patient 15 month wait my wife and daughter finally have an interview scheduled for October 19th.  My questions revolves around the completed medical examination requirement (I-693) and whether those who conduct the interview are looking for a medical even if  the INA and USCIS policy manual says it is not strictly required for K1s.

Prefer not to waste $500 if it seems like it might not be asked for.

https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume8-PartB-Chapter3.html

"4. K or V Nonimmigrants Applying for Adjustment [26]

K and V nonimmigrants applying for adjustment of status are not required to repeat the medical examination if the application was filed within one year of the date of the original medical examination, and:

The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition; or

The applicant received a conditional waiver in conjunction with the K or V nonimmigrant visa or the change of status to V and the applicant submits evidence of compliance with the waiver terms and conditions. [27]"

Hi,

Today is October 16th, I still have not received the biometrics letter. My priority date is August 20th. I called USCIS two weeks ago, and they made an enquiry to follow up with Baltimore office (I live in Maryland), but still I have not heard anything. The thing is that apparently, the biometrics is not scheduled yet!

Anyone with the same experience here? Should I just wait?

Hello,

wow 2 months is a bit long to receive a biometrics appointment letter, like I mentioned before, mine took about 6 weeks.

Since you already called,  if Baltimore isnt too far from you I would recommend scheduling an Infopass and talk to somebody in person about your situation as well. Hopefully knocking on multiple doors will get them moving for you.

Good luck

hi everyone! I just arrived here in Baltimore with the k1 visa, I already have the i94 printed. Please help us what next steps to do. We are getting married on oct 29

Apply for your social security number.  My wife applied 2 days after arriving in the U.S (https://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn) and the card arrived in the mail 1 week later.

Start filling out the I-485, I-785, and I-131 for adjustment of status, employment authorization, and advance parole.  You can send these as soon as the ink dries on your marriage certificate next week.  Get passport photos taken (for the applications mentioned) and prepare to request several copies of your marriage certificate.  Collect documents needed when you submit the I-485.

Ask you spouse to add you to utility bills, cell phone plan, and rental agreement.  When the social security card arrives, your should be added to your spouse's bank account.  All of this (plus health insurance statements and beneficiary statements) should be saved as proof of a "bona fide" marriage for your upcoming green card interview.

Good luck and congratulations! - Jason
