Entered through DFW on April 1st 2017 on an Immigrant Visa. Was a breeze through as the lines were completely empty. Had also requested SSN through DS260. Have not received either. When I check my USCIS Tracker with my IOE # it shows the below message. I also created an account at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ and there it shows me the last updated date of 04/04/2017.

Immigrant Visa Fee Payment Received
On Month XX, YYYY, we received your USCIS Immigrant fee payment for your Permanent Resident Card related to your immigrant visa. We will be processing the request for production of your Permanent Resident Card. You should receive your Permanent Resident Card within 120 days of your entry into the United States or within 120 days after your USCIS Immigrant Fee payment is received. If you do not receive your Permanent Resident Card, please contact Customer Service at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/contactus. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Has anyone moved in recently in 2017 and if yes , how much time is it currently taking for SSN and Green Card . What are the statuses that one sees after "Immigrant Visa Fee Payment Received"

Hi there!

Green card will most likely take about the time that is mentioned. This is only my guess based on seeing other's timelines, I arrived on a K1 myself. Your passport entry stamp serves as your green card, for all intents and purposes, until you get the physical one in the maiL.

For the SSN, I've read that if you arrive on an immigrant visa requesting it by DS-260, you should go to your local SS office if it doesn't arrive within the first month to make a renewed application, they sometimes miss it.

On another note... welcome to the DFW metroplex!!! We are almost neighbors :)

Thanks for your responses folks !!  I get that if the SS# does not arrive , the final resort is to go to the SS office and apply in person. The Social Security department has a document process for immigrant visa holders that says that one needs to wait for 3 weeks at least. I am just going to wait ti out for one more week and see. In mu case I have an SSN and am working but wife needs one ( was indicated in the DS260) .

https://www.ssa.gov/ssnvisa/whatyou_need.htm

Also wonder why the USCIS does not print out the green cards in the airports and give them to the people. Why the "handover" between DHS and USCIS again and the wait time there after. I tried calling the USCIS and they just rote whats written " Wait for 120 days , we have everything that we need from the payment perspective". So frustrating.

Also has anyone tried to create an account at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ ? You can identify yourself and see the status of the mailing address. All payment receipts and case statuses also can be seen . It also shows the last updated date .

Thanks,

AG

SS# won't come till you go there at office you don't have to wait 3 weeks.

We went next day after my wife came and they took care of it. All you need to take there is Passport  and other document.

Havent sign up for USCIS account but I just waited 2 months and her GC was here.

For securaty reason they probably won't print anything there ?

For immigrant visas that enter and tick the box on the ds-260 it is supposed to be applied for by DHS and should just arrive in the mail. Sometimes they miss this.

I just meant that the information that "you won't get it without going" isn't true. Many VJer's have just gotten it in the mail. SInce it as sort of a "new thing" though I can only assume that this will get better and better as staff receives more and more training. Being an over cautious person, I would have gone to the SSO myself, I just wanted to make clear that it isn't supposed to be required and for many it hasn't been.

Has anyone received a tracking number when USCIS nailed greencard? My wife's greencard was mailed a week ago per status online but the tracking number is not listed. And also how long did it take you to receive it?

Update :19 days after POE I got an update from USCIS with the below message. DHS login shows a last update of 04/20 on the case/s. The message says they were approved on 04/19.

1. Is this the final status or is there a next status after this ?

2. When should I be expecting the mails. I understand that there are 2 mails ?? One is a letter of approval and the other are the cards themselves ?

Card Is Being Produced

We have approved your Form OS155A, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Receipt Number IOEXXXXXXXXXX. On April 19, 2017, we ordered your card to be produced. We will mail your card to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

MMKShah : Did you receive the green card per your last post ? How many days did it take ?

I received it about 10 days after the status changed to the card was mailed. You should receive notification when they mail your card.
