administrative processing AP document submission

Hello all!

 

I apologize if this question has already been asked, but I have a question about submitting missing documents while in Administrative Processing.

We finally have all of the requested documents and are ready to send them next week. But I was wondering if anyone had sent their passport along with their documents EVEN THOUGH the consulate did not ask for the passport yet. Was this successful for you? If not, what happened? I want to save on time, by sending them both passport and documents lol

Did they say your visa was/would be approved once they received the documents they requested? If so, send it.

 

If they didn't say that, don't. Wait for them to receive your paperwork and then notify you whether they want your passport or not.

The only thing they asked for were  documents showing that fines for the court case were paid and there was no longer a warrant in our state.

Years ago, my husband had transferred a court case for driving without a license, but we weren't notified. We called months and years later to follow up with the court it was sent to, but they told us that it wasn't in the system and to forget about it. So, we did forget about it. BIG MISTAKE. The warrant was issued. Fast forward to yesterday and the case is finally closed, fees are paid, and we have the court disposition. This is literally the only reason for AP. No tattoos, no fraud issues, we brought all other requested documents, etc. 

I graduate in May and thought if we could send both passport and required documents, my husband may have a chance of seeing me walk, because we wouldn't need to wait for them to ask for the passport, send it, wait for it to come back, etc.

I would not send in your passport. Often time, different departments in the consulate/embassy handle different functions. There is no guarantee they will forward your passport to the right office/department, even worse, it may get lost which will only cost you even more time. Send the embassy exactly what they want and nothing more.

Thank you everyone for your replies! My husband actually went ahead and sent the passport anyways Thankfully it all worked out and his visa was issued on 4/25
