It's great that they have finally stated what qualifies as "other names used". In older form this was not as clear as it is now.

I was working on my 129F, when the updated 4/10/2017 version was released.  Is anyone else finding that some of the text boxes can not be completed in Adobe Acrobat?  For example, in Part 1, I can not type in the boxes for 9a, 9b, 9c, 9f, and 9g, or click the check boxes in 11b.

I'd prefer typing the entire application in Adobe so I don't have to worry about someone reading my handwriting.

I also noticed another change in the new I-129f instructions

So I wonder, I'm about to mail my I-129f tomorrow.  Will I get an rfe for following the old instructions on the old form?

Nope. You're sending the previous form (which is still accepted for a while), so you follow the instructions for that version of the form.

If the new previous version was set to expire in a couple weeks, I'd probably suggest using  the new form since I've seen people get rejections because USCIS didn't get it into their system by the expiration date.

It looks like it's supposed to be "smart". If you answer "no" to 8.j, those boxes for 9.a, etc. become active (and presumably if you answer "yes" to 8.j, they'll use your mailing details for physical address 1, and you start entering your previous addresses from physical address 2).

But 11.b seems broken - I can't get those check boxes to enable at all. Looks like the only option is to remember to check the box manually after it's printed.

@Greenbaum posted that there is a new I-129F form in the Philippines forum so thought I'd notify the rest if mods are not moving that thread to the K-1 forum.

The latest version is dated 4/10/2017 (10 April 2017). Effective 6/9/2017 (9 June 2017), USCIS will only accept the latest version. In the meantime, applicants can still use the 12/23/2016 (23 December 2016) version.

So now they actually ask about the beneficiary's physical address history, employment history and ethnicity/race as well as physical traits.

Great thing is that they are now clear about the old Question 34/34a on the in-person meeting. This question is now Questions 53 and 54. Overall, the numberings for all questions have changed so we would have to go through the new form in order to provide assistance or answers to the newer applicants using the new form :)

Okay, so does this mean for the people who haven't submitted their I-129F form yet...need to redo it?

Hi! I started to fill the new I-129 form and I am the beneficiary.

In part 2 they ask for the physical addesses for the past 5 years. I had 3 different addresses by this time so I need to use the Part 8: additionnal informations.

But there are different problems and questions: First of all, I can't fill the the name section on the document, it's not working, do you think adding a document typed on word is ok or they will ask for the right form to add the third address?

And what am I supposed to put in the Item Number, because I'm not really completing a box I'm just adding a third part to beneficiary address.

This is how I typed the doc, do you think it's a good solution instead of using their form?

For me, the 3 name sections in part 8 are automatically copied from part 1 item 6 (using Adobe Reader).

Just as you had on your example, you can put NA for the item number on the form too.

A bunch of updated USCIS forms now have the part for additional information so that we do not have to add our own continuation sheet. Given that they have such a section i.e. I-129F Part 8 Additional Information, I think it's best that you type out the address there. As for the name box that you could not fill in online, write it by hand after you have printed the semi completed forms :) Just an idea.

Hi guys! Can anybody help me with this question, I am not sure what to do.  It says, "Provide your beneficiary's current address first if it is different from the mailing address ...". My beneficiary's current address is the same as mailing, in this case, do I skip 12.a.-12.h? I assumed that should provide her previous address but it doesn't let me change 13.b Date to PRESENT

I finally started the form again from the beginning and found a way to fill my informations correctly in the good form!

Thanks all for your help :)

Jalma Noe: What i understood and did is skipping 12a. to 12h. and just filled the 13a.

For the previous address I used the "beneficiary's physical address 2" and then the Part 8 form for the third address.

Hi everyone -

Had a question out of curiosity.

Since the previous (older version) I-129F had the clause of "ever convicted" of a crime... but not "ever arrested or charged" (as in the newer form), does that mean anyone who's filing with the older version doesn't have to comply if they didn't have a conviction?

In other words, if you decide to use the older I-129F but had an arrest (no conviction), you don't have to disclose that? but the newer version says you must disclose it?

Potential loophole for short duration that the older version is still valid?

I wouldn't exactly call it a loophole since it was never required until the new form. :) But always ran background checks, so they very likely already knew the answer to those types of questions anyway.
