Just got the NOA2 approval letter in the mail today. The name of my mother is incorrect though, can someone guide me on how to fix that?

Also, When can I call NVC to get the case number?

Update: I called USCIS and filed a Service request to fix the typographical error. After almost 15 days (today) I received an email saying the below:

"The status of this service request is:

We have received your service request regarding your approved I-130. You indicated that you erroneously provided the wrong name on the I-130, and you would like to correct it. However, this case was approved, on October xx, 2017. Therefore, in order for your case to be processed as desired, you must submit an amended application/petition with the proper fees and signature. "

This is completely wrong as there was no error on my side. The name was correct on the application and on the NOA1 I797 Acceptance letter. I definitely do not want to re0submit the whole application and fees. After calling USCIS again today they wanted to transfer me to 2nd level support but I have received a call back until now. Really frustrated with these good for nothing immigration officers.

That doesn't make sense. Why would you send a new process of petition when the error was on NOA2 which is on their part. Have you called NVC if the received your case? Maybe you can correct it in that stage?

Mine was the same. For the longest time, I got an error message (invalid case number). I called USCIS and asked them if I can speak to a Tier 2 support. He told me not to worry about the online status. It only changed to Case Received a few days before I got approved. I received my approval in the mail almost 2 weeks ago (I did not get any email or text notification). My status online is still Case Received until now. Try to call again and ask for a Tier 2 officer. After speaking to a Tier 1, I was transferred to a Tier 2 but there was no officer available at that time. I got a call back from them that night.

Called the day after and told me the same thing - don't worry about it. But they did acknowledge that it is more of a technical glitch.

Anyway, all is good. 2 days after I called I got my Mom's NOA2 in the mail. Petition has been approved and case will now be forwarded to NVC.

Hi everyone!

So received IV invoice, in which says I should submit DS260, but when I try to do so it says It should be done after my IV payment is received. Its a bit confusing. Filing for mom. And also they need two or three years of tax transcripts ?

Thank you in advance !

Tammy,

according to the NVC first you have to chose the Agent - DS261 and from there they will unlocked the other steps ( fees, and DS 260).   About the transcripts I am sending the last 3 : 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Got an email from the NVC on 11/9 stating:

"The National Visa Center (NVC) has received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy overseas.

NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy in RIO DE JANEIRO, BRZL to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable)."

We're still waiting for the interview date/time notice. Anyone know how long it takes to get this once NVC receives everything?

Here for my mother-in-law, here's what we've done so far for her IR-5:

04.06.17 - NOA1
09.14.17 - NOA2
09.21.17 - Case Sent to NVC/DoS
10.19.17 - Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation
10.23.17 - Fees Paid Online
10.25.17 - Fees Posted
10.26.17 - IV Application Submitted
10.26.17 - AOS Submitted
10.27.17 - Civil Documents Submitted
11.09.17 - Documents Accepted, Case Closed @ NVC
12.13.17 - Interview Notice

01.03.18 - Medical Exam Scheduled01.11.18 - Interview
01.31.18 - IV Picked Up
