I need some advice... My ROC were received by CSC Sept 20th 2016. Now, 13.5 months later I still have no response regarding my case. I need to get infopass this month and I am upset why it takes so long. I thought my case was straightforward and I am worried why it takes longer than usual? I checked the processing times for CSC and as of Aug 31st 2017 it says they are processing cases from July 19th 2016, which means they take cases from 12.5 months ago and my case has been sent longer than that, 13.5 months ago! Unless their online system is not updated well, my case is outside the processing times. The only thing I did was to postpone my fingerprints by 3 weeks later, does this matter?

I made a request 30 days that my case is outside the processing times and I received no response although they promised they will reply in 3 weeks.  Now the next step is to go higher up and contact specific service center, which I did... I am very upset and angry at this point. We pay so much money and they do not even bother to reply in the designated time frames.

What else is there to do?

USCIS website currently says the following about CSC:

As of Sept 30th, they were processing applications received on August 3rd 2016.
Which means, they were processing applications from roughly 423 days prior.

Using this math, it seems they must be working on applications from around Sept 13th 2016.

This is IF they haven't either sped up a little, or slowed down even more.

I hope this helps bring you some clarity. It seems like you should hear back from them within the next week or two!
Good luck with the infopass appointment, if it comes to that.

April 2017 filers will likely be processed around April 2018 +/- two months.

Thank you for this info! My question is once they process the application, how long does it take for them to get it approved or request RFE

If anyone knows...

I appreciate it : )

Is anyone planning to do the N-400 before the ROC is processed? I am eligible to apply around March 1, and from what I see, most of us are unlikely to get ROCs decided until May. I would be applying in Boston, which from everywhere I see is really fast at processing N-400s (4-6 months). I am leaning toward doing it... ANyone else in the same boat?

Thinking of it as well. How does one find out the processing time for the respective local office? Also do you think the paper load will be same or heavier than ROC?

This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes Psalm 118:23:)

I think it will be the same paper load whether one does it in March or in June, so getting the ball rolling will be good. N-400 is long (20 pages) and they will also require some proof of marriage etc. There is plenty I can send.

I look on other forms (like the ones for say November 2015 filers) and it seems like the Boston office processes paperwork really fast. Not sure if it's representative, but worth a try anyway - At the same time +/- two months won't ake a huge difference at the end of the day

Hi everyone,

So assuming we dont get our new cards by april. My original expiry date was in June. So when do we have to make an appointment to extend that 1 year extension? In april or in june? I am under the impression that our card is extended by 1 year from the expiry date on my green card and not the date the letter was sent.

That's correct. The letter extends your GC to June, the 1 year anniversary of the expiration date on your GC. Based on some recent threads here, some USCIS offices are turning people away from getting a 2nd year extension until a month before the 1st year extension expires.

So basically, people who's 1 yr extension expire on June 2018, and haven't got the new GC, should go to the offices one month before to get another extension...

Yes. My wife will be traveling abroad in early August with a letter expiration of July 11, so we'll be looking to get a stamp in June.

Hi, I'm thinking the same thing. I also do live here in Greater Boston, 15 minutes away from the city. I'm just not sure about the cons of doing it.I'm eligible around 4/2/18 though. Thanks for the info btw. Regards.
