Hello everyone.

Starting the thread for April 2017 filers on K1 Visa, just because I'm too impatient (yep, bad thing here :P) to wait for someone else to do so.

We sent our package 30th March and it's expected to arrive to the PO Box today, 1st April, so I consider us to be April filers, since our case will be touched by USCIS first time in the current month.

Hoping the NOA1 doesn't take too long to have our receipt number, and that we can get the NOA2 by July the latest, seeing how things are moving right now... though I've noticed there's a substantial amount of January filers, which I guess it could affect our wait and timeline.

Crossing fingers and wishing good luck to everyone.

Thank you for all the information, always nice to have a reminder and quick recap.

So I should be here saying I've already got my NOA1 or at least eagerly waiting for it... But NO.

I know this is a waiting game, but having a bit of a hard time already because I'm not sure what's happening with our petition in the mail.

My fiance sent it via USPS Priority Mail and the estimated delivery was Saturday (04/01). It actually arrived to the destination facility that day, but 24 hours early we got the dreaded "In Transit- Delayed" message that automatically shows up after a day non scanning a package.

It's been like that for 4 days already, no update whatsoever, which means it has been 'untouched' for 5 days. My fiance insured and asked for a signature, which the lady at the post office said it's ok even being a PO Box.

I know this happens sometimes, but this is starting to be too long. If it was me in the States I would have called them already, but I think we are waiting till Friday and see what happens (yes, I'm the impatient one and he's the cool one in this couple). Just the waiting is being hard because of the uncertainty of what's happening...

I didn't sign for an extra wait in this long process :/ Thank you, USPS! I guess my piece of advice for now is go for another courier...

UPDATE: 5 minutes ago I got an update on our package saying it's at the post office and should be delivered today.

So I guess my plan worked... I've seen other people getting updates on their delays right after ranting about it in some public forum. Incredibly enough that has just worked for me, or so I hope. Must be some kind of cosmic law! :P

It's great to hear that your package would be delivered today :) After it's delivered, you might have to wait for at least a couple of days to receive a text and e-mail if you guys sent in the G-1145. Thereafter, you'll need to wait a few more days before you get the hardcopy. It's all a waiting game now.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

I know. I'm fine with that even if it's more than a couple of days for the text/email (yes, we sent the G-1145).

What I wasn't dealing well with was the uncertainty of being completely clueless about what was happening... and imagining the worst case scenarios

Still keeping my fingers crossed so they really deliver today and ready to welcome the waiting game.

Not sure where the USCs are from but the southeast area is experiencing bad weather with tornado watch and what not.

Either way, it's always a relief when USCIS gets our petitions :D They'll be scanning the packages and sending out NOA1s as they go.

Thanks for creating this thread.  I'm surprised no one else is an April filer.  It seems February has quite a few.   We will be sending out our packet out this week and will keep you updated.  Molta sort!

Good luck with your petition and lots of patience along the way :) It will be great to know about your journey. Hopefully sharing will keep us all sane.

I thought there was a lot of filers for January but it turned out I was mistaken for what more veteran people are saying. Apparently with the new fee there was a lot of invalid petitions that month from petitions that didn't update their payments, so probably that affected February and subsequent months.

Hey everyone!

Thanks estibaliz for starting this thread.

We sent our package on March 27th from overseas so I'm hoping to finally get noa1 anytime soon.

Good luck to everyone!

You are all welcome. I did it for myself because I wanted to start sharing and feeling less alone ^_^

Good luck to you too. Hopefully we all hear something soon.

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and my fiancé and I are April filers now. Originally March filers but we sent the incorrect fee, for some reason he wrote $530 instead of $535 on his check. So anyways, they sent the package back and it was resent to the Dallas Lockbox April 3rd, 2017 and it was received April 5th, 2017. Fiancé just received Text message today with Receipt number and that the official receipt notice (I-797) is to follow in the mail. Happy to know that the visa is finally starting in the processing stages. Wishing all the filers a smooth process & thankful to have you all during on this journey with us. All I know is it will all be worth it, specially when we don't ever have to say goodbye at an airport again. 😊😍

p.s thank you for starting the thread Estibaliz

You are welcome and congrats on your NOA1.

We are still waiting for ours to come, not even check cashed out yet. Really hoping for tomorrow or at least this week, since the petition arrived a day later than yours. But starting to think the world is against us on this somehow and we'll have to get used to delays and more than average waits.

Oh well...

Thank you so much! 😊

Try to stay positive, (I know easier said than done sometimes) I know for myself I was stressing so much and when we finally called and we were told we sent the wrong fee and that they were returning our package, I felt defeated. Although, we have been delayed a month now cause original package was sent at the beginning of March, I have faith in the process. We all need to try and stay positive and have patience cause all will work out 🙂

Enjoy your day & hoping your NOA1 notification comes today!
