DCF I-130, Immigrant Visa Interview. Is the petitioner can join the applicant during the interview?

Hi everyone, the petitioner (spouse) is allowed to join during the interview right?  What floor is the location of the immigrant visa interview in US EMBASSY MANILA?  Is it in the separate room or same as non-immigrant? Window conversation?  Thank you so much.

Not sure about your Embassy, but ours allows the petitioner to accompany our spouses to the interview. 

 

We just called and emailed beforehand to make sure I would be able to pass through security. We had no problems after doing so.

 

The interview is done in a separate area where they have individual rooms with chairs and a big window. It's not the same area as the standing windows where tourist visa interviews are given. I'm assuming they have a similar difference at your Embassy.

I filed DCF, and accompanied my wife and 2 kids to the IR-1/CR-1 interview in the Manila embassy. The initial paperwork was handed in at a little booth just inside the large room (ground floor but opposite the room for Non-immigrant), then the initial meeting for biometrics, fingerprints, document checks etc was at a window, and the interview itself took place in a small office just round the corner from the glass windows. All was clearly notified on internal displays.

Yes, my husband was with me during the whole process from the data entry up to the interview.  From what I remembered, it's in the ground floor. The non-immigrant and immigrant visa interview windows are in different location. Don't worry, there are embassy staffs who assist applicants from start to finish.
