Today was the interview! We are confused!

Today my Fiance finally had his interview. He said it actually went fast. The person interviewing him didn't even ask him many questions except "Do you know if your fiance is married or not?" and "Does she have any children?". The interviewer also didn't ask to see any of the evidence I worked hard to compile. All they took was the support forms (I-134). Then the interview was finished. All they told him was that he should wait a week to get his passport in the mail. We don't know what that means or what to think. I hope they won't request to see more evidence, because we already had everything right in front of them. I'm so nervous. I loose sleep over this stuff every night.  I guess I'll let you know if he receives his passport with a visa after a week. Maybe it wont come at all. Who knows. I'm trying not to think negative thoughts.

Sounds me to like he got approved. Visa will be delivered within a week with a visa in it.

This is from the state department's website. I also believe that if you are denied, they are required to tell you why and give you back your passport.

I really hope so. Maybe they didn't ask any questions, because they weren't concerned about anything....

They definitely took his passport, and told him that he should receive it by the 28th. I have until the 28th the know. Thank you for this. I have a hard time finding straight answers on the internet.

Did he happen to get a generic "Welcome to the United States" letter? This sounds a lot like how my CR1 interview went. The CO informed me that there is still a few checks they do after the interview, before approval. He didn't want to commit to saying I was approved, but gave me the impression and a date to expect my passport by.

It sounds like he's been approved. Congratulations to the both of you :) It would be so exciting when you get reunited!

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

K-1 visa's are non-immigrant visas where we are getting the welcome letter once our green card is approved upon adjustment of status. CR1 and K1 work a little different when it comes to that.
