Hello...as far as I'm concerned you only need it IF you lived in Mexico longer than six months AFTER or at ANY TIME at the age of 16.

Hi we just did this. You have to send a copy of 1. birth certificate 2. photo  (like a passport photo). go to the local Fiscalia General del Estado de of your state. They do it right their. My partner has a friend in Tepic that went there with his stuff and got it right then and then he emailed us a copy and sent original thru mail. It was not hard. Lol it was the only thing that wasn't in this whole process. Good luck.

I'm curious about this subject, because I had my interview in Cd. Juarez in August of last year and did not have to show any police records during the interview, despite the fact I had been living in Mexico for the past 2 years. My letter of appointment marked this requirement as 'Unobtainable' and I was never asked for them at any point. Does your interview letter mark them as a requirement to bring to your interview?

Well it isn't easy to get it through the consulate here in LA let me tell you that, I'm suppose to get la constancia de datos registrales, and is a whole process that includes: fingerprints, photos, birth certificate, marriage certificate, and send the seal package to the PGR in Mexico City then wait 10 days, I'm honestly going crazy.

Your letter says its required?

I've seen conflicting stories on this throughout the forum.

I'm glad I came across this topic, because I just received my interview for next month also, in Juarez; and the case complete email I received from the NVC also stated that I needed to bring a Mexican police certificate with me to my interview. It them explained that if I had lived in the country 6 months after the age of 16 I was required to bring it. But I only lived there since the age of 4. Which clearly means that doesn't apply to me, I was just confused as to why I was being asked for it. My attorney told me not to worry about it. I'm just hoping I don't have an issue with that.

I think it's fairly new, that they started to ask for the police records. That's why the information regarding it is all over the place.

It's not a difficult process, just time consuming and annoying. If it's the carta de antecedentes no penales, that they even require

for certain jobs, then it's not a big deal, but if they want police records from all three branches then it's trickier, since they're

all acquired at different places. Hopefully that's not the case.
