They usually schedule appointments at the end of the months/first week of the new month. So, in 2 weeks you should be hearing from the NVC

My case was expedited, so for me, it's going to be the embassy who's going to schedule the interview directly instead of through the NVC.  I've emailed them 3 times and no response. And calling them is useless.

We just sent in the request to expedite last week. Does it take a while before they approve/deny the expedite?

Also you guys should all try expediting.  I spoke to a supervisor at NVC and he said from what he knows Djibouti is accepting expedites for a wide variety of reasons and is being very lenient because they understand the circumstances.

I believe it took 2 weeks for them to approve it. But once it was approved, the NVC immediately forwarded the case to the embassy and it took a week for them to receive it.

The only thing is it looks like they're taking awhile to schedule interviews and I really want my husband here by May.

Can someone help me out please. We sent the expedite request to NVC and they told us we have to email ivsanaa@state.gov.

Does this make sense because the  Sanaa embassy is closed. Should we be emailing the embassy in Djibouti the expedite request? If anyone has their email please let me know what it is.

No..that doesn't make sense. The expedite goes to nvcexpedit@state.gov

the expedite request goes through the NVC first, who forwards it to the Djibouti embassy, who then responds back to the NVC (whether they approved or not), and then you get an email notifying you. Depending on what stage you are in, the embassy will either schedule your interview directly or you'll await to hear from the NVC who'll schedule your interview

I cited multiple reasons such as financial and emotional hardship, pregnancy, concerns on Muslim ban, etc.

Ok thanks, and did you have a congressperson do it for you or did you just email them yourself? Im not sure if applying for expedite would speed up my process or slow it down at this point. My case was completed february 2nd. Do you think i would get an appointment soon and just wait. Btw I started this whole process in February 2015. Its been more than 2 years ?

aww ): yeah, I started in December 2015. honestly, I'd say no because since your case was already completed at the NVC stage, you're just waiting for an interview at the embassy, which everyone else is so an expedite wouldn't be helpful.

My expedite was because i received a checklist 12+ weeks later and I wasn't about to wait another 12+ weeks just so they could review one paper. So the expedite allowed me to have the case transferred to the embassy instead of being stuck at the NVC stage.  Thankfully, the expedite was approved which I was NOT expecting at all, they usually only expedite for life and death situations, but djibouti seems to be making exceptions.

We're almost at the finish line now!! Hopefully, we will receive interview dates soon. InshaAllah.

How long has it been since you sent them the request?

When did you submit the expedite request? And did you directly email the Djibouti embassy or did you do it through the NVC?

I've sent them 3 emails since March 7th with no reply.
