What is going on???? Processing Date Discrepancy?

Hey all,

So visajourney's tracker (here:http://www.visajourney.com/content/times/ ) says that I-129f's submitted as of December 12 are being processed out of the CSC, and ours was received on December 6th and we received the NOA1 on December 9th -- so I called USICS today and they told me NOA1s as of September 16th were being processed! And sure enough, their website (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do) says this.

Which do I believe? We were so hopeful that we were going to be receiving an NOA2 soon, and now we are absolutely devastated....

Visajourney timeline is based on user's input. USCIS gives an "official" time frame which is usually off. Don't expect the 2 to match as they have nothing to do with each other.

What you see on USCIS's website is the information last it was updated.. if you look at the top it was last updated December 31st...so the information is roughly 2 months old. This is all the USCIS tier one look at as well. VJ timeline is much more accurate, but ofc also has some variation that can depend on many factors such as case dependent ones.

Cases are not worked completely in sequential order. The majority of I-129Fs from November are being processed still. There's a handful of Oct. filers still waiting, and a very, very small number of Dec. filers have heard back. Check the data in my signature for Nov. and early Dec. updates. There's also a lot of updates in the Nov. filers thread:

I run a scan daily for all I-129Fs from CSC (which is where all I-129Fs go right now) from around Oct. 31st to Dec. 7th. I'll likely start scanning for updates for later Dec. filers around next week. Check out the Nov. filers thread linked above for a better idea of what is done.

Furthermore, just because a processing time somewhere says they are now processing a certain month is not something set in brick and mortar. It does not always mean that every application within that certain time slot is being processed, or that applications after that date are not being processed either. For example, processing time for my field office says that they are processing N-400 for April 30, 2016. However, I have a friend who mailed his N-400 in the second half of 2016, and he is already a USC.

So, always take those processing times with a grain of salt.

AOS, ROC, N-400, & PASSPORT, FOR HUSBAND TO USC

It would be nice if they had just a bit more communication rather than absolute zero!

Example:
We mail off our applications to the lockbox (signature required, tracking, etc.)
We get confirmation it was signed for and/or delivered

Within 1 - 3 weeks we get a NOA1 (stating where the case will be transferred too)

Then it's absolute ZERO, NADA, Zilch!

It would be nice if there was a little update on the case(s) that stated:

Received <insert service center here>

Assigned <insert case worker initials>

I really think this is the hardest part - NOT knowing, if it arrived at the service center, if its been assigned to anyone..  I know every case worker has a different load, each case worker works at their own pace, etc. etc. but when you look at the USCIS processing times - that is jumping forward then backwards, then forward again.  It's months behind and not even remotely accurate.  VJs site, I can't stay is accurate either.  People in October & November are still waiting - Yet people with NOA1 of December 12 are receiving NOA2 (I'm December 7th NOA1 & I haven't heard a peep in 84 days)

So I'm not sure what scan you are doing of who, what, when & where...

Yeah tell me about it.  I was watching the Visajourney timeline as well.  Still heard nothing on NOA2 and hit 165 days today.  When I contacted my lawyer, he just says "it is still in normal processing times according to the USCIS website".

That's pretty odd. What does the online Case Tracker say? Once you reach 150 days, you should be able to put in an inquiry.

My case tracker on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do does not really say anything except for when they received my case and my expedite approval (which was obviously a waste).  It should be noted that I am both a reservist (pegged to deploy) and a gov employee with security clearance.  When I claimed her as a foreign contact for a clearance investigation they canceled her tourist visa that she had visited me on in the past.  So I expected some delays, my case is confusing for a bureaucracy I suppose.  How can I put in a inquiry?  Because I have called tier II multiple times with the same answers.  I scheduled a infopass apt at the Moscow embassy for when I visit in a few weeks.  I'm considering Ombudsman and congressional inquiry. Thoughts?
