Our Dilemma: K1 vs CR-1

Hi, I'm new in this community and I'm a bit confused hehe ^_^

I am a citizen of the USA and I want to marry with my fiancee and live here. I used to live in Dominican Republic (all my life) and I met her there, we have a relationship of almost 5 years. The first 3 years we lived in the same city but then I dedicated to come to the United States. We saw each other for the last time 9 months ago.

My problem, like many others, is in the choice of the K1 visa and the CR-1 visa. The problems:

*K1-Visa: I worry about the long time it (problems that could happen in this route) takes and the impossibility that my fiancee can not work immediately.

*CR-1: I worry that even if we marry, we would only have evidence of our relationship before married, the wedding and honeymoon ... but we will not live together because after the honeymoon would return immediately to USA and probably the next time we see each other would be for the interview . So we would not have any evidence as spouses life.

Which visa would be the best for us? Which would be approved easier or with less problems?

Note: my fiancee has never requested any type visa for USA but got a European visa to study. She returned DR already. We do not have childrens.

I really appreciate any answare and guidance.

Thanks a lot!!!

What visa is best for you, is really up to you. Is it REALLY important that she can work and travel immediately: CR1. If you don't mind that, and just want her here ASAP: K1.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Both visas will take some time. But if you want her to be able to work, travel, and possibly drive right away upon entering the US then do the CR1.
