Hello,

I am a naturalized U.S. Citizen. I filled I-130 for my husband on May, 2016. I got instructions from NVC the documents they need & which fees need to paid. Afterwards, I cleared all the fees and sent them the affidavit of support forms, financial and civil documents. My DHL tracking says it was delivered on January 4th, 2017. It's been 6 weeks already and have not heard from NVC yet. They did not even let me know if they received those documents. I am very worried that I do not know any update of my case after I have done everything they have asked me to. How come they are not contacting me any more and they said they will take 6 weeks for review and then call for interview. But its already over due, no news from them. I am very very worried. Please help if you have any advise for me or would like to share with me your opinion/knowledge on this matter as to why this is happening. I would really appreciate you all for your kind responses.

Did you also complete the DS 260?

Also, have you tried calling NVC to get an update on your case-that might help make you less anxious

From what I have seen, it is not unreasonable at this time for the NVC to be taking 60 days for review

Thank you dear for your advise. Yes, I completed DS 260 and paid all the required fees. I did not make a call but I contacted them via e-mail and they have not responded to it yet. And is it normal to take 60 days or so? Because in a letter, they said they'll take 6 weeks. They did not mention that it may take longer.

Don't stress out...this is usual now. I applied for my parents. Sent civil docs and they received on Dec 5th. No communication until they asked for more docs on February 15th. So I guess I takes about 2.5 months now to get a response.

August 8, 2011: NVC received file

September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned

NVC has a bad track record of responding to emails; you may never hear back.  The 6 weeks response time is a generic estimate, not a rigid timeline. 

Call them.
