Hello I am new here I need an answer or some advise,  my aunt bought me a ticket to go to holiday to the US (birthday gift)   I got a 10 year multiple entry visa only problem is she purchased the return ticket for a 5 month stay,  I dont really want to stay for 5 months maybe only 2 coz I really only want to go to Vegas and California . I asked if she could may e like change the return date coz I seen border security won't allow you in for 5 months. she got real  angry and said it was a gift and I shouldn't  be so ungrateful and either I take it or leave it, I only wanna stay 2 or less so like how I do I tell the border security person my problem.  Please help me!

Seriously people, doesn't this story sound a bit off? A strict aunt demands that her nephew/niece tours the U.S. for the full 5 months before being allowed to go back. She'll pay for 5 months but not

Her Aunt bought her a ticket for free, is also paying for her trip!  We dont know the full story behind why she bought a 5 month ticket.   You may not see it girl but you are being ungratefu

Easy, contact the Airline and make the change, depending on the the type of ticket there may be a small fee.

 

Sounds like your Aunt wants you gone a long time?

Choice is totally yours to make. Explaining this to the immigrations won't do anything, they've heard it all before I'm sure.

 

Like above, change it yourself.

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

I kinda tried that,  it was ridiculous expensive to change considering our exchange rate and it cut into my budget for my holiday big time.

You are going for 2 months so unless you change your ticket how else are you going to get home?

Well I thought like one I got there I would call her and tell I need to come home and she would then arrange for me to do so.  One way ticket is like double the price. She would pay for me to stay the full 5 months coz it "her gift"  but now I am like disrespecting

Well I check a couple of sites I only have $3000 to take to the US most one way tickets cost $3000 and over,  so guess I might have to take my chances and ask my aunt to bail me out after 2 months or lose my trip completely.  I am curious though Has nobody EVER been admitted to the US for 5 months? What's the point of like allowing you in for 6 then??

My aunt has already said should I stay the 5 months she will pay the full trip,  but because I don't wanna stay the full 5 months she won't coz she thinks I am ungrateful for refusing her gift.  It a culture thing I so I don't expect you to understand,  but that's her ultimatum.  $3000 is enough for me to stay for 2 months

Sounds like more interest in seeking responses to POE questions to a 5-mo trip.. than an interest in changing tkt to 2 mos.
