Stuck in AP after interview in Dominican Republic

Me and my fiance had our K1 interview on Feb 1 2017.  She brought in a copy of her birthcertificate and the embassy employee wanted the original.  We were told that we needed to deliver her passport and original birth certificate to MBE in Mega Cento Mall.  We did that 1 hour later.  Everything was turned in on Feb 1 2017.  It has been over 2 weeks, even though the employee said that we would have the visa within 14 days.  I check the ceac website like 10 times a day.  I have noticed that the dates have changed showing that it is updating.  This has happen about 5-6 times.  This is litterally driving me crazy.  I just do not understand why this is such a slow process, it honestly doesnt need to be.  I am basically asking for any advice.  I really dont know what to do.  Is there anyone that I can call? Everytime i email ustraveldocs I get this autoresponse email basically saying to please be patient.  this is BS.

Every time you get an updated date on your case it means they are working on your visa

 

I would second the be patient and wait, you are JUST over 14 days, give it another week see what happens

While I can't speak for the DR's embassy or visa processing, I wonder if the employee meant "business days". That was sort of the case when my husband and I went through the K1 stuff. Ours took 9 business days but 13 calendar days although the consulate officer told us a week. Who knows really what things that have to be done after the interview to give back the passport? Just gotta be patient and wait a little longer you'll get it eventually and now you are pretty much on the homestretch!

 

I will say that by business day 8 I had emailed the embassy stating the CO told us a week "blah blah blah". Although I got a general response back of "keep checking us docs" the passport was released for delivery by the next day so.....yeah.

 

Good luck! I would suggest to your fiancé to bring over one or two more original copies of his birth certificate in the meantime. You never know when you are going to need one and better to have it than not.
