Hi, 

My husband is a US citizen & I am based out of India. We have submitted all documents to NVC on 12th Dec 2016. I was told that that the time line to clear all documents by NVC is within 60days after submission. We are close to completion of 60days but yet haven't heard from them. Can anyone advise whats the current wait period? anyway we can push it?

I would call right at the 60 day mark and inquire about your case. I had two at NVC for my stepsons and when we hit the 6 week mark (which is what we were told) I called and found out they had not looked at the cases yet. I was told they would submit to a supervisor. I then called every week until they were finally processed 1 month after the 6 week deadline. Keep calling :) best of luck.

Hello,

I was issued a 221G in my interview. The officer didnt check any of my documents relating to my marriage and yet issued a 221G requesting more documents validating my marriage to be dropped at the VFS. Our passports were also returned. Am told to submit it again with the documents.

Does this mean that the visas have been rejected? what are the chances of us getting the visa after submitting the documents? What is the time taken when the case goes for AP? Did anyone face a similar situation?

please help!

What documents did they ask for? Submit the requested docs alongwith the passport and wait. Any kids applying with you?

Thanks Kieren. They have asked me to provide documents like phone records, email records, pics which I had at the time of the interview. But he didn't see them at all. He has even asked for proofs of wedding outfit and rings, registration application for court marriage. Names, contact and relationship details along with the address of guests who attended the wedding. Yes I have a daughter aged 17 . Did u face any such issue? Do you know what the wait period is going to be after submission?

They do not seem convinced your relationship is bonafide. Any large age differential or interracial marriage, the usual flags?

But he didn't even see any documents or give me a chance to explain. We had ceremonies in two different cities. Can that be the reason? We both belong to the same caste and the age difference between us is just 5 years
