In queue for interview

Hello all ,

We finally received the email from NVC today that all requested documentation has been received and my husband in in queue awaiting and interview appointment.

Questions:

The letter says it can take up to 3 months to get an interview, is this true?

Is a date automatically appointed or do you get to choose your own date within a range?

Should he schedule his physical examination now or wait until the interview date has been assigned?

Thanks,

The answers to all these questions are embassy specific. What country is your husband from?

It's an apple to orange comparison because of caseload at embassies, but I had my scheduled interview date within 30 days. The scheduled date came with about 40 days notice. I scheduled the medical exam at that time to coincide with the interview, the doctors office recommended I do the exam about a week before my interview.

Out of interest why was it recommended you do your medical a week before your interview?  I've done mine 5 weeks before my interview.  I'm not sure that it matters, in fact once you are notified of your case being completed it says to book your medical immediately.  My medical has now been sent off to the embassy, 4 days after the examination was done.  My birthplace is UK and embassy is London.

The reason for me was the nearest panel physician was still 2000km away. It made more sense to have it done in the interview city, and the physician could only guarantee results if done a week before.
