Rukhsati after visa approval

Hey guys,

So, i filed the i-130 and have a PD of Dec 8, 2016. My plan is to get the rukhsati done a few months after the interview so that as soon as we are done i can bring her out here. Reason is that i dont know if i will be able to go out there and the families will have time to prep between the time we receive the interview date and the interview happening.

Forgot to ask the actual quesion.

My question is has anyone gone through this where the rukhsati was done after the visa approval?

Not completing the Rukhsati can be a reason for visa denial (there is even a checkbox for it on the ISB 221g form)

Hey Kastrs can you please tell me what is exactly asked on 221g regarding rukhsati? Like is it just a check mark that asks if you have performed rukhsati or do you have to provide dates etc?

I would suggest you perform some research, a 221 g is not a form you fill out, it is a form the embassy can provide you if your visa is placed in AP (administrative processing)

Also, do NOT lie or provide misinformation during your interview

If you are asked if you have completed the rukhsati, you will need to answer honestly

One of my relatives got married in Pakistan a few years ago, and had the rukhsati done after his wife got a visa.  However, his Nikah was basically a full shaadi type function.  Basically the only difference was that the actual rukhsati part, where the couple leave the hall together, was not done.  I could see there being issues if one did a simple in-home nikah or masjid only nikah, but a big nikah in a hall with hundreds of guests is not as suspicious, relatively speaking.
