Marrying Too Early?

Hello Everyone!

 

My fiance and I had planned to marry a few days after his POE (for religious reasons). But now I'm wondering and afraid that this will this raise suspicions or problems down the road. Thank you so much!

Entering on a K1 you can marry at any time without raising suspicions. Think about it.. suspicions about what? Your real intent? Your real intent is to marry and immigrate. I think you are getting confused with ppl that enter on visas that don't have immigrant intent

No reason to worry. 90 days is just a time frame. Whenever you decide to marry is up to you completely. 

 

Like people who wait until day 89, does that mean they had second thoughts or got cold feet?

 

Long as you marry within the time frame it doesn't matter.

Personally I don't think they will care if you get married the day after you arrive. Your plan is your get married after all

 

Get married whenever you're ready, just make sure it is withing those 90 days and you will be fine

Why would it raise suspicion, that is silly...they know you are meeting to get married, and you have 90 days, heck, you could get married the hour you get off the plain if it's possible (you know POE Las Vegas!, lol). So no, you are worrying about a non-issue.

No issue at all about getting married shortly after POE. If you are sure about the whole thing then nothing will change your mind. When my wife came in on the K1 visa we literally got married about 7 days after she came in because we were sure about the whole thing. Since we knew each other and had been dating almost 3 years by that time, so no one thought anything about it.

You can literally get married right in the airport immediately after having your visa activated if you really wanted to and they won't even care

Just be sure to have it done within 90 days of POE.

 

My spouse and I got married about a month after POE because he couldn't get a decent day off until then, and we got married at the courthouse.

Some states ask for SSN for both before you marry (NJ does, NY doesn't, dont know about others). If he/she was coming to NY, you could go to court house and get married the day he/she arrives. And get marriage certificate in 24hrs or after

We married at the county courthouse 2 hours after my husband stepped off the plane to satisfy USCIS and start the AOS process. Did a religious ceremony 7 months later.  As others have said there is nothing to worry about as long as it falls in the 90 day period.
