I was actually surprised to see that they updated it on early this month. They usually do on 15th or so. So it was Queens NYC that 'regressed' I don't know if it was an error or it actually regressed.

It was 'as of Sept 30 processing Feb 9' and became as of 'Oct 30 processing Jan 3. Now it says 'as of Nov 30, processing Feb 2. '

Ah, right, it was Queens. Thanks for the reminder. Sounds like things are moving along now, though!

We sent it in. But she wanted the original copy. She kept it and said you will not get this back. It is the property of the United States department of homeland security now. Do you understand that you have surrendered your expired visa?

That sounds about right. Sometimes they keep the EAD as well if you re going to be approved that day, so I hear.

I had to go in for a new biometrics for EAD renewal, but I think there's mixed policy on this. It's an electronic record so they should already have it, pretty dumb to record fingerprints again. But when is USCIS not pretty dumb?

Today's my on-the-phone-all-day day. I need to call my senator and congress representative. I sent the rep's office email yesterday to let them know I continue to need their help.

My one year wedding anniversary is on the 15th. Ah! what a wonderful day! A special, special time when I thought to myself, "A year from now, we'll have gone completely through immigration, he'll have his green card, the country will have a Democrat president, and I'll have abs."

Such innocence. Such youthful naïveté.

Oh, it's good to have you back. I desperately needed that chuckle.

And, yes, I think we've all lost a certain amount of innocence over the past year, but especially since November 8 *vomit*.

Happy early one-year wedding anniversary!! Ours is just three weeks after yours on Feb 6. :)

And there's still time for abs.

Must make sure you didn't find a way to change your fingerprints in that year. I never understood that, why not just re-run the original set and save everyone time and energy.

Efficiency doesn't seem high on USCIS agenda, lol.

Question: EAD Renewal can be submitted 120 days before expiration. 120 days not including weekends or because it's a card just like 120 full days?

I interpreted it as 120 full days, I mean who has time to count out all the weekends, national and public holidays etc?

I am about to leave for my impromptu Infopass appointment. I checked at 10, appointment at 1, be there half hour early due to safety protocols, takes an hour to get there and I don't know how to drive in downtown LA, total panic scramble to get all my papers together and print out additional things, walk the dog, make myself look like a human (unsuccessful after all this stress and worry), and now I'm just waiting for the ride I managed to wrangle. It's Friday the 13th. Wish me some gosh darn luck.

ps. I also had hoped for abs at this point, and running a 5K. Silly me!

Met: June 2004

Face-to-Face 1st time: June 2010

I moved to the US: August 2015

Ok i just got back from my info pass appointment at the local office in SF. The officer told me that the case is at the NBC and that they requested my case in January 3rd. I told her that is weird because i have filed my case in March 2016. She said they are conducting background security check or something in that matter. She also said that Cases at the NBC take maximum of 90 days ( is that true ?) and i should hear back at max in April 3rd.

This information was kind of confusing and different from what I heard when i called Tier 2 officer through the USCIS customer service phone number. they told me that my case is waiting on security clearance since April. Also i spoke with the congressman office This morning and they also told me that the case is waiting for security clearance at the NBC. in fact they forward me the email that they got from the NBC that states my case is under security clearance.

I don't know what to do with this delay. How long will i be waiting after the NBC. Another 6 month maybe ? a year .. forever .... :(
