HI there,

I am a US citizen living in Australia at the moment and I am wanting to get Aussie Citizenship as well as stay with the US as I plan to move back there soon.  In Australia you have to apply to become a citizen, does that mean I would lose my US citizenship?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks!  Yeah Australia also allow it but I have read that the US don't agree with it if I apply for it willingly then possibly lose my US citizenship?!

I am wondering where i can read some up to date info on this.

Thank you, yes that was what I was reading:

Also, a person who is automatically granted another nationality does not risk losing U.S. nationality. However, a person who acquires a foreign nationality by applying for it may lose U.S. nationality. In order to lose U.S. nationality, the law requires that the person must apply for the foreign nationality voluntarily, by free choice, and with the intention to give up U.S. nationality

The above would mean I may risk losing my US nationality right?

If you are not intending to give up your citizenship then you fo not.
