FBI data for 2014 (They don't have 2015 up). Statistics for the offenders. 23% Black/African American and 52% white based on the people where it was reported.

Just like discussions we've had recently about news waiting to report information until they have it confirmed so that we can stop "fake news" going around, I think it is reasonable for a police department to not publicly confirm what someone will be charged with until they have actually gathered the evidence and are confident that they will be making that charge. It wouldn't help everyone for them to say "We are definitely going to be charging them with a hate crime!" and then 1 hour later for them to say "Oops actually we aren't". I'd rather them say "We are investigating" at the beginning, and then inform us when they know for sure.

This has actually been a topic on Black talk shows where it was expressed that these laws are actually jailing more Black (per cap) than Whites and some saw it as another example of the system rigged against blacks.  

But we almost never hear of cases of Blacks being charged under HC statues.... and to my biased mind i attribute that to the lack of interest the media has shown to cover stories when the perp is non white. They tend to be local stories.  Even this recent story, it is hard to imagine  the amount of coverage  had this been a black obama voter in 2008. The white house would have spoke and sent a DOJ delegation to oversee, as they did with Mike Brown. Nightline type specials would be running on all networks and the GOP would be accused of creating the hate we saw on this vid in chicago today.  But instead it was a white kid. (yawn)

They are to busy fighting black on black racism on Facebook…i guess.  Didn't they end up finding a Facebook group of black men who would not date black women?

    It's not that we couldn't have. Discussing racism with some of you (not naming anyone in particular) is like having that metaphorical argument with a brick wall. Not many people have that level of patience.
