AOS packet mailed, delivered - no response yet

Sent my AOS packet just before the deadline for the fees to go up. I tracked it via USPS and it was delivered on Christmas Eve. I included the form to be notified of their receipt of the packet but have yet to hear anything. Should I be worried? Sent it to the the PO Box address in Chicago.

No need to worry it normally takes about 1-4 weeks not counting holidays. If over 30 days you can inquire

Not sure how specific they are but if they go by the date they received it, then 12/24 would fall under the new fee schedule. If they go by the date you actually put it in the mail (postmark), then you'd be ok under the previous fee schedule.

They go by the date it was post marked by the post office, so if it was dropped off on December 22 at the latest s/he should be fine.

I'm in the same situation - I posted my package on 22 December and it was delivered on 27 December (USPS tried to deliver on Christmas Eve but there was no one there to sign for it at 5.30pm). No notification/NOA1 yet. I wonder if there was a last-minute rush of people sending in their applications before the fees went up, and that's causing a delay?

There is no delay as of yet. NOA1s are happening about two weeks after you send your application (maybe more for you since you say it took 5 whole days for it to be delivered) which is perfectly normal.

If the packet was received Christmas Eve you probably want to start counting from 12/27... and through today would make it approx. 10 working days. In my opinion, you'll probably be hearing by the end of the week if not mid next week. (There's a good number of holidays in this timeframe so that's most likely why it's backed up.) Monday is a holiday as well lol! Hang in there!
