They concievably could, but not easily. That's why they investigate. Not investigating and 'letting it go', as your idiot in chief wants to do, is just insane.

Well apparently, so I've heard, Americans doubt their own government's intelligence and technological capabilities so much that they think we have no ability to track down whom a person is that might mask their identities. I know, so crazy but true. And it makes sense, I mean think of how many people still fall for IRS phone scams and Nigerian prince letters per year, think we didn't land on the moon, or believe in high level alien experiments at Area 51. Often we seem all too eager to believe nonsense over straight up but slightly complex data. ;)

If you think it's a form of sanity to suddenly trust some of the same agencies that let Hillary go after basically saying she was guilty, if you think for one second that government agencies won't conspire together to create an enemy out of thin air to unite folks and to shift the focus of what really happened... then perhaps you are one of the most sane people in the US.

 

I, for one, would take anything I read these days coming from the direction of DC with more than just a few grains of salt.  Silly me, not trusting the government, I know.  

 

I'm not saying they are making it up, and I'm not saying it's all true.  Just saying that there are layers to the "truths" that we are allowed to know.  I particularly liked the line about how the hackers stopped on Russian holidays.  That was so cute.
