RFE- Birth certificate?

Hey guys!

We received a RFE in December 30th issued on December 23rd.

The reason is that we forgot to send a birth certificate of my wifes sister which is our only joint sponsor. 

 

The RFE says this:

Evidence may invlude:

• Birth certificate issued by a civil authority showing birth in the United States. 

• Puerto Rican birth certificate 

•Biographical page of unexpired US passport (but she doesn't have a passport)

• Certificate of Naturalization 

• Certificate of citizenship 

•Departement of State Form FS-240

 

Now my question is, is it okay if we send a copy of her birth certificate? Its not the 'long' original birth certificate because she lost it. So in 2004 she got a new one which is kinda like a square looking card in a blueish color. Would it be enough if we copy both sides here at home and send it? Cause it doesn't have to be a certified copy, right? Or am I wrong about that? Its just because if we wouldn't have forgotten it, we would have sent the same thing as well..not a certified copy.

Unless they indicate that they want the original, send a color copy of what they are asking for. Is the her birth certificate card the official gov issued document? If so make a color copy of front and back and mail it back to them. If she has a passport, the easiest is to make a color copy of the pages that have her information and mail it back to them.
