Happy Holidays everyone!

My husband completed his biometrics in November and he is waiting for his EAD.  On the myUSCIS Case Status site, I read the following:

Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview

As of December 5, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC*****************, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

* Is this a general message that appears as the case is being updated or will we actually have to attend an interview?  K1 visa holder.

K1 visa holders sometimes have to go to an interview for AOS, and sometimes not. If you get a notice to attend an interview, you'll know your answer then. Given your message, it looks like you'll receive that notice to attend the interview.

Edit: The interview would be for the I-485, not the EAD. Hopefully you'll get the AOS before the EAD, because that would be excellent news! It's uncommon but it happens!

Hi,

We got the same message in our process. But instead of getting an interview we received the conditional resident card.

So it could go either way. You may or may not get an interview.
