Time between sending Packet 3 and receiving Packet 4

Howdy,

My fiancee mailed the supporting documents for Packet 3 on 15 December via Thai Post EMS and they arrived 2 days later. I just e-mailed the embassy requesting an update and they replied with the usual boilerplate government language:

Thank you for contacting us. Submitted documents will be reviewed in the order that they are received. Once we complete reviewing your case, we will be in contact with you regarding the appointment date.

Based on the recent stats I've seen here for the Bangkok embassy, most people receive Packet 4 within 3-5 calendar days after sending Packet 3. We're now on day 12. Has anyone had an experience like this before?

(And yes, I realize it's the holiday season.)

I heard that currently the office in Chiangmai is closed, so they have double work to handle in Bangkok

Good point! I did see something recently that Chiang Mai was processing only a limited number of visas. Makes sense now!
