Traveling with I-551 stamp in passport

Wanted to share my experience with traveling without having a valid green card.

I lost my expired green card while my ROC was pending. I did have the extension letter from USCIS and I had made an appt with my local field office and got the I-551 stamp in my passport prior to travel. When I got to O'Hare airport flying in from Canada. The customs officer sent me to secondary but I over heard the officer say to another that this was an easy one because I had both the extension letter with my EAC# and my 1-551 stamp. I was only held up less than 5 mins. No issues
